Travel Journal - A trip to PEI - Day 7

We've had amazing weather all week so I couldn't complain when the weather decided to make a turn to the worse on our checkout day. The original plan was for us to check out, leave PEI and spend the day in Halifax.  I was the only one in the family who has ever been to Halifax and I was hoping, at the least, to show the kids the Citadel and have lunch downtown.  But it was not meant to be.  By the time we arrived to the Confederation Bridge it was pouring. And on our way, while we were still debating whether to go to Halifax first or go straight to the airport, we saw a lot of car accidents...that was when we decided to scrap our plans and head to the airport directly and take things easy. Since we had a few extra hours in the airport now, I started checking to see if there was anything around to kill time.  I found The Atlantic Canada Aviation Museum (free admission) and decided to check it out.  It was perfect.  It was near the airport, indoors (

I thought our beach days were over but we woke up and the kids asked for us to squeeze in one more beach trip so we decided to check out a beach in the south shore since that's the area we were staying at.  We found Chelton Beach Provincial Park .  The sand was all red and the tide was super low so the experience was super cool....I walked and walked and could walk sooo far into the ocean it was unreal!.  After a morning at the beach we headed to Charlottetown.  We knew we had to stop by the capital at some point and today seemed like a good day to do so.  Once we got to town, and parked, we stopped by the tourist information booth.  They gave us a map of the town and an activity pamphet to find 'mice' in key historical sites as a way to encourage kids to roam around the city.  We started walking around with no real plans but discovered a lot of neat things along the way.  I have to admit it.  After almost a week in th
